Looking for new ways to save money and reduce spending?
Take advantage of these frugal money-saving tips to help you save money and reduce your spending.
Are you a frugal money-saver? I know I am! I'm always looking for new ways to save and cut spending. Below are some of my favorite frugal money-saving tips.
1. SAVING APPS
Saving apps are a great way to save money! Sign up for your favorite store's apps to receive special discounts and coupons.
Most stores offer apps where you can clip coupons directly through their apps.
2. USE COUPONS
Using coupons is a great way to save money! Below are four ways coupons will help you save money. (Before using any coupons, I suggest reading the fine print and ensuring you know the store's rules.)
You can use coupons on discounted and sale items.
You can sometimes stack store and manufacturer's coupons.
You can sometimes earn cashback on certain purchases.
You can use coupons on BOGO deals.
3. UNSUBSCRIBE
Figure out what subscriptions you are no longer using and cancel them. If you can't withdraw from them, see if there are cheaper alternatives or a more affordable subscription.
4. SHOP AT DOLLAR TREE
Yes, I said it! I love Dollar Tree! Even though their merchandise is no longer $1.00, you can still find some great deals.
Dollar Tree has many great things, but some of my favorites are their cleaning supplies, organization products, holiday décor, and greeting cards.
5. LIBRARY
Stop buying books and go to the library. The library is jam-packed with plenty of books and free resources.
6. FREE ACTIVITIES
Find free activities for you and your family to enjoy. Free or low-cost activities are a great way to save money. Below are some free/low-cost ideas.
Playgrounds
Spraygrounds
Library
Local Community Events
Picnics
Truck or Treats
Date Night at Home
Movie at Home
Game Night at Home
Girl’s Night at Home
7. CREATE A BUDGET
Everyone needs a realistic budget. The word budget scares most, but being aware of your finances is better than not knowing. Learn how to budget step by step for free here!
8. ALWAYS TRACK YOUR INCOME AND EXPENSES
Make sure that you track your income and expenses.
Tracking your income and expenses will help you manage your money and stay on top of your finances.
9. EMERGENCY FUND
When starting an emergency fund, start small but think big. Start by saving at least $500.00 to $1,000.00 and continue to grow from there.
10. TRY A NO SPEND WEEKEND
When you want to save, try a No Spend Weekend. No Spend Weekends are fun because you can make the best of what you have. And it will inspire you to get creative.
11. PRETEND YOU MAKE LESS
You can’t spend what you don’t have. So, have your money come straight out of your account into a savings account. Try to automate this and make it a routine. By doing so, you will save money that you would've otherwise spent.
12. PAY OFF DEBT
Pay off or down debt that accumulates interest. There are many ways to do this, but my favorite is the snowball method.
Snowball Method:
Evaluate your debts.
List them from most significant to smallest.
Start by making minimum payments on all of your debt.
Then any extra money you can afford, apply to the smallest debt. Do this until the debt is paid in full.
Rinse and repeat until all debt is paid in full.
13. DIY SALON DAYS
Do it yourself! This might take practice and patience, but you can do it. Try doing your hair, nails, and toes. One trip to the nail salon costs $150.00 or more per visit.
